Lotus Notes File List in Selection Box Not Appearing Alphabetized

Look at the attached file.
The first screen displays what shows when the user clicks on Files --> Attach. The list is not in alphabetical order by filename.
The second screen displays what shows when the user clicks on View --> Details before clicking on 'Name'. The list is not in alphabetical order by filename.
The third screen displays what shows when the user clicks on 'Name'. The list is now in alphabetical order.

Shouldn't the list default to alphabetical order? Is there a parameter somewhere or a registry key setting that can be set to define this default sort? It only seems reasonable that a listing of filenames would appear in alphabetical order beneath any folder names (also in alphabetical order) just as is the case in Windows XP by default.

Any insight is most appreciated!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Not sure, but it may be related to

1) How t was sorted last in Notes

2) How it was shown last in the WIndows explorer

3) What the explorer settings are for files and folders ( remember folder info on or off etc )

DId you check this on multiple machines ?

Have you tried using a newer Notes client ?

I hope this helps !

Thanks for the suggestions. I'd already tested these, but the problem still exists.
