I installed Trend on a workgroup laptop the other day with no problem on a Vista Ultimate OS.

Today I am trying to do the same thing but on a Vista Home OS (workgroup only).  I get an error this time. In researching it I found the following hotfix:
http://esupport.trendmicro.com/support/viewxml.do?ContentID=EN-1036776&id=EN-1036776

Does this make sense? Is this for the PC/laptop only? Or do we have to do something to the install set on the server?

Yes, Vista has this special 'administrator' account which is disabled on default. On Ultimate you can simply enable and disable this account via UAC. However Home version you must go to safe mode in order to enabled this.

The patch you mentioned seems to allow to uninstall without having full administrator privilege. I think it's safe to update it with that patch and install the new version.

Hope it helps
