AVG 8 Remote Admin & Updates

I am trying to test out avg 8 for deployment on our network.

I am looking to have full remote admin access as well as use our remote admin server as a proxy update source as well.


So far all is well except the updates. This where I need some help.

I set the updates to use proxy only, setting the server to *servername* and the port to 4158. It apparently finds the server, but i get the message "Update failed. The update control file is missing" I am fairly certain I have not fully configured the server correctly, but not sure what to do next and asking here is much easier than searching elsewhere more than I already have.
