DFS Replication Issues in Windows 2003 Server

I have DFS setup with two site roots at different physical locations. The site root is a folder called DFS.
I have added a link to another folder called SoftwareInstall. Both folders are located on every server at every site under C:\DFS and C:\SoftwareInstall.

I have setup links to each of our 30+ servers at different physical locations to the SoftwareInstall folder and configured replication to occur from our main server to each DC at the sites. E.g. Replication = MainSite > Site A, MainSite > Site B etc

External site links are 512k/512k and the main office is 3mb.

I have made a change in the main servers SoftwareInstall folder and put in a 300mb folder and I want to force it out to 1 of the sites, without waiting for schedule replication that occurs at night. I tried allowing scheduled replication for all times, and clicked priorities and ticked the connection in question, changed priority to high and clicked OK. This appeared to start replicating but then stopped after around 3mb of the 300mb folder.

Can someone please explain the steps involved in making external siteA pull the data from Mainsite through replication using DFS.

How do you monitor your replication? Have you created a health report? How are your sites set up and AD sites and services? Is there a backlog between sites?

I use dcdiag and replmon to monitor replication. All things look fine. Sites and services are setup with all external sites pointing back to main site for replication and occurs only during the night.
There shouldn't be a backlog in terms of replication for DFS, because I only have two external sites listed for testing purposes using the custom option.
I am however using W2k3 server SP2 not R2 as the main server. All external servers are using R2, just not the main one.

DFSR require R2 on all servers in the topology.
