Network share Unavailable

I have a vista business machine and I  connect to my server at work  over IP sec tunnel VPN which works fine.
but when try to connect to the server share I get the following error.
 0X80070035  dns is down.
This only happens when  AVGi nternet security tool is active. (AVG has been working fine for 6 months
has anyone seen this error and how can I get round it.
