Error FTP Downloading "PGP no armor header"

Good Morning Experts,

I am trying to download files from one of our "distributors".  The file extension is .asc

I am running this software on my server. running Small Business Server 2003.

When I try to download it in the WS_FTP GUI, it runs through the entire download, and then at the very end, it errors out with the error, "PGP no armor header" with a little lock icon to the right of it.

My next step was to use command prompt to transfer the same file, and it worked flawlessly, so I have narrowed it down to the program.
I am putting intermediate, though, I may be a bit of a beginner, I don't know yet. :)
The log file says:

Hi there;

<<I am trying to download files from one of our "distributors".

PGP file encryption
Industrys first integrated OpenPGP mode to encrypt individual files to enable secure file management before and after transfer. Only individuals with the appropriate key can decrypt PGP files.

Add the .ASC filetype to the ascii filetype list.

I guess you will be getting the error "PGP no armor header" from an ASCII transfer on an unencrypted connection and WSFTP is trying to transfer an ASCII file as binary is the case we have here now...

Best regards...

Hi there;

well...I don't know but can you try with FileZilla client (free)?
See if we get the same result...

Best regards...

Can I install this on 2003 server?

To be clear, my end result, would be scheduling this to be automated and I don't know FIlezilla works that way?

I would like to make WS_FTP Pro work.  If that's possible?

I added it to the list and I am still receiving the error.  I have an option to "OpenPGP Mode"

How and what does that do?

I am thinking that your problem is related with unecrypted connection...
Contact that "distributors and inform them that they are using old version of pgp..

Best regards...
