SAS Enterprise Guide - Connection Error

I'm getting the following error:  A connection to the server "Local" could not be established.

This is running fine on machines all around me and I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still get the error.  It 'feels' like it something to do with the configuration on my machine.  I was wondering if any experts have ever run into this and can maybe point me in a direction to check out?
Thanks!

I'm sorry - I forgot about this.  The articles did not cover what is wrong - it still doesn't work on my machine.  I am running two versions of SAS on my machine, V8 and V9.  We are going to uninstall both (and Enterprise Guide); then reinstall only V9 with Enterprise Guide and hope that works.  If not then we go for a rebuild of my machine, which I hope does not have to happen.  It's a real pain! :)

Thank you for sending these articles and I apologize I forgot to get back to this.

Even though its still not working on my machine - I think the articles are good and gave some good insight on what to look for.  These could very well be helpful for someone else.  Again, thank you!
