I have an Averatec 2300 series laptop.  When I turn it on, I don't get anything to come up on the screen.  I hooked it up to a monitor and I get the same result.  I am not sure what to do now.   Do you have any ideas as to what I can try next?

Thanks.

Does the hard drive light flash?  Do any lights come on?

I can not see anything on either screen when I turn it on.  And the hard drive light comes on for a few seconds when I first turn it on, but only the power button is lit after that.

Doesn't sound good.  Could be the main board.  Make sure you remove the battery and anything else hooked up externally.  Also remove the RAM and hard drive..see if you can get any beeps out of it.

I talked to a co-worker of mine and he told me to charge the computer for about an hour and it comes right up now.

Thanks for everyone's responses.
