projects located in the workspace folder must be direct sub folders of the workspace

I have source code in:
C:\myCompany\Project1\project1a
C:\myCompany\Project1\project1b
C:\myCompany\Project1\project1c

The workspace is defined as C:\myCompany

I want to create a project for each of the 3.
I try to create a project for project 1a by creating project from existing source, but it tells me that
"Projects located in the workspace folder must be direct sub folders of the workspace folder"

What do I need to do?

Eclipse 3.4.1

Have you tried to choose the option of copying the source code? Normally Eclipse asks. You cannot have projects within projects in Eclipse. Otherwise, create a new project and copy the source in manually. After creation and making sure it runs right you might want to delete the old Project1, but leave it be until you are done.

I guess the solution is to not locate the projects in the workspace.
Counterintuitive to say the least, but it works.
