Why won't FireFox run?

Yesterday I noticed that ffirebox Firefox did not run on my Windows XP PC at work when I clicked the icon. This morning I tried double clicking the .exe file in explorer. "Nothing happens" Checked task manager to see if it was already running, but no it was not there. Called up my work IT and they said they did not support Firefox, but they did not block it either.
Tried uninstalling, and reinstalling Firefox, but that did not work either.

I think look like firefox upgrading.. Check clean clear method.

Have you tried running Firefox in Safe Mode? If it opens in Safe Mode then most likely there is an add-on causing the problem. Check out this link:

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

If that doesn't work then you might have a corrupted Firefox profile.

1. Save your bookmarks
click start >search >all files and folders > enter  bookmarks.
2. Uninstall firefox in add /remove programs console
3. Click start >search >all files and folder > search for "firefox"
Look in any firefox folders and see if you can find the profiles folder.
4 Hopefully the profiles folder was found, if not search again, this time for "profiles". Now you may get other program stuff, the firefox profiles has "u9ed7iuj.default" in it
5 Delete it, delete anything to do with firefox.
6 Install Firefox by downloading it as a file and install it from your hard drive.
7 Import your bookmark.html by searching for bookmarks.html and pasting yours over the top of it (replace).
OR you can try to import it . Open firefox > bookmarks >organise bookmarks >file >import.
8 When you transfer the bookmarks you may have to transfer the contents only.

If you only require a browser for every day browsing and dont require Firefox plugins use Google Chrome.

http://www.google.com/chrome 

If your only logged into a user account at your workstation the install may complete but you may not have enough privileges to run the application.

Could not even start up in safe mode. Found link above which solves problem.
Answers:
you need to get rid of the program completely by removing registry inputs. okay:

-uninstall everything mozilla
-delete any directories left behind
-delete mozilla directory in application data, found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Application Data\Mozilla
(application data is a hidden directory sometimes)
-download tuneup utilities (free for 1 month) http://www.tune-up.com/
-run the registry cleanup and remove all errors
-repeat registry cleanup
-shut down, restart
-download firefox from mozilla website
-reinstall
