I am using coldfusion 8 and I am trying to display an image in a cfgrid within a flash form that is in a different folder. I have no problem if the image is in the same directory as the page displaying it but if I try to use a relative link to the image, it does not work.

Take a look at
http://www.asfusion.com/blog/entry/using-labelfunction-to-format-cfgrid

This tutorial uses "images/imagename.jpg" to populate a grid cell.

Are you sure you've got the link correct and the file exists?
I would suggest using "somefolder/under/this.jpg" or "/top/folder/image.jpg" rather than "../../going/up/image.jpg"
