Hi everybody,

I having an issue with the network connections in server 2008. the boards all have dual intel pro/1000 eb network adapters in them. ive set up 3 machines with server 2008. the first 2 i set up were in a cluster and i set up an internal network connection and also the heartbeat. the problem is if i reboot any of these machines the internal network connection fails to reconnect. the settings and connections look normal when the computer boots. to get it working again i have to disable and enable the connection and everything goes back to normal.  this is the same story for the 3rd machine i built that had an internal connection and an external connection.  i notice this problem sometimes occurred on some of our server 2003 boxes as well.  any ideas? im confused

Hi,

When you say internal network connection is that the referring to one of your physical network cards or is this a virtual network card.

do you see any windows events before you disable and enable the network card.

Its a physical Nic, and as for the event logs im not seeing anything related to this issue in there, im going to activate windows and do the updates and see if that helps. This is now happening on 2 of the 3 servers that i have set up under server 2008.
