A user is unable to sync his his remote database with our Act Databaser server.  He is a remote user and off site and suddently he gets the following error when attempting to to sync his database.

Failed to synchronize with the server. Server Error Description; Sync initialization error occurred in database object PRC_SYN_PROCESS_INITFILE: CANNOT DETERMINE ISATTACHSYNC VALUE!
Sync initialization error in database object PRC_SYNC_PROCESS_INITIALIZE INITFILE. Contact your administrator for assistance.

I'd really appreciate some feedback on this.

We've been able to identify the cause of this new error.  You could encounter this error with 8.02 or ACT! 2007 9.0.  The error will occur if the Remote/Subscriber database has been restored from a previous backup - specifically, a backup which was made *prior* to any subsequent sync sessions.

I don't think there was a complete solution till ACT! 2007 9.0a. But you might try adding Hotfix 5 (to all machines) from http://tinyurl.com/6bx8u6

If that doesn't work, you should cut a new RDB for the user.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunatly, I could not get the sales rep (the user), to get back to me before the sync deadline expired. I'm, creating a new RDB.
