My client uses SBS2003 and the faxing component. Within the last Month or so when a fax comes in (.tif) to outlook, when you open it the error message "This action is only valid for products currently installed" appears. What normally happens is that the Microsoft Document and Imagining program opens the .tif and the fax can be viewed. A quick google search and prior memory of this issue in Office 2003 was a detect and repair solved this. Under Office 2007 Standard that did not. Any ideas?

Hello fa2lerror,
1. In Outlook 2007, Detect and Repair has been replaced by Office Diagnostics.  On the Help menu, click Office Diagnostics. > Continue > Start Diagnostics

2. If no joy, create a new Outlook profile.

3. If no joy, reinstall Outlook.  Go to Add/Remove Programs and highlight Microsoft Office. Click on Install/Uninstall.  A menu will pop allowing you to choose repair or reinstall.

chilternPC: Thanks for the advice. I believe all the current service packs are installed but I will check.

war1: I will try steps 1 & 2. I did a reinstall as in #3 already.

Fixed by uninstalling all SQL related programs on desktop. This was actually caused by the Outlook Business Contact Manager as it uses SQL. When uninstalled it left part of the SQL database.
