Can you run tcpdump on a Mac?

I need to do packet capture.  In Linux I would use tcpdump and in Windows I would use Wireshark.  Is tcpdump available on the Mac OSX?  Or is there another program Mac folks use for sniffing a wire or the wireless ether?

Hi,

All versions of Mac OS should come with tcpdump and you should be able to use it via the command line.

You can view a command reference for tcpdump here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TA21467

I like Packet Peeper also, which is a nice gui app which you can get at the following link.
