how to see how many messages are in my que and force a resend

hello,
my smtp server died last night in the middle of sending out all our bills.
The box that sent out the emails have a bounce of emails in the resend que

how do i see how many emails are qued to be retried and how can i force them to resend now instead of waiting 4 hours?

mailq let u see how many mail are in queue
man mailq will give u different option's u can try with.
sendmail -q will try and force mail thats in the queue to go through
