Why does Vista restrict me from my user folders?

Why does Vista not allow me to use Windows Explorer to copy directly into some user folders example, My Documents)?

"My Documents" is not a real folder in Vista; it has been replaced by the folder called "Documents".  My Documents is a junction, used as a pointer to Documents so that older programs that were hard coded to store data in XP's My Documents folder will still work.  You have to go through special procedures to view and edit these junctions.
