I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

marques_salazar   I should have mentiond that I had already disabled add-ons, removed a few programs, ran CCleaner, counterspy.   Thank you.

sk_raja_raja: Thank you.

I followed your instructions and the links.  I found only cookies and a remnant of 'bugs' screensaver which has been on here for a long time.  Took it out.  No improvement.
I also found that my logon in safe mode which should be administrator able isn't. I have 2-'normal' and Adminnistrator.  Need to fix that-doubt that is the problem.
I don't remember how to uninstall and reinstall IE 7 if that is a possible solution.

Any other advise welcome!
