Where can you view license information

I have Windows Server 2008 and as I understand it you no longer "install" cals, you just buy them and choose per seat or per server during the install. Is that correct? And is there a way in Windows to see which way it was installed? I can't seem to find any.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you can type slmgr.vbs at the command prompt which will pop with the differnt switches to obtain or check the licens information.

you can otherwise type   slmgr.vbs -dli for the license summary at the command prompt

or type slmgr.vbs -dlv for detailed information.
