Inserting animated clip art into Powerpoint

I am trying to insert an animated clip art into a powerpoint presentation, but my image does not move.

I have downloaded the animated clip art onto my computer that has internet, and have transferred it with a memory stick onto my computer that has Powerpoint.  When I open the images on Windows Picture and Fax Viewer they move, but when I try and insert the clip art on my Powerpoint slide, it is static and does not move.  Any ideas?

There are a couple of reasons why this might be.

The most likely is that you have not started the slideshow.
Animated gifs do not move until the slideshow is actually running (F5).
