SYN Timeout on smtp relay

I have a server that uses a smtp realy off of our spam filter (a meridius box).  The two boxes used to be in the same DMZ and the relay worked fine.  Well we have now created a higher security DMZ and put this server in that new DMZ, but now the smtp relay will not work, I get this error when I look at the firewall log:

11/4/2008 12:14      Local7.Info      Nov 04 2008 08:35:25: %ASA-6-302014: Teardown TCP connection 603029516 for dmz1: to trebstore: duration 0:00:30 bytes 0 SYN Timeout
Can someone help me understand why this is timing out?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Sounds like the relay refusing connection, as the box is now in other network. Maybe the allowed networks are restricted.
