Cannot view intranet site on Iphone

I have an iphone that connects to my wireless network.  I am able to view web pages on the internet and access file from one of my servers, but when I try to access my intranet page, a blank screen appears.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Perhaps the intranet page is not Safari compatible?  What kind of content is being served on this intranet page?

It is just html, and I have tested it using Safari.
Is the page on the same server that you are able to access files from?  Is your wireless network set up in a DMZ or is it internal to the network?

Are security permissions preventing the iPhone from reading the page?

The page is on the same server that I am able to access file from and the wireless network is set up as internal to the network.  I opened up security to grant everyone full control over the directory and it still did not work.
I'm almost at a loss.

Is there any chance that it has opened the page but is zoomed in on a blank portion of the page?  Meaning you can pinch the screen to zoom out and see the rest of the page...

I found out the problem.  The domain is has the extension .local which apparantly does not work with iphone.
