How difficult would it be to replace the usb ports with those from another D400?

I have a Dell Latitude D400 with a broken motherboard or a power supply problem, that will not turn on. I want to buy a used D400 body and put the hard drive from my machine in it. One I'm considering has usb ports that have been structurally damaged on the outside. How difficult would it be to open my old one, and take out the two side usb ports and use them to replace the ones in the used machine I might buy? I have the necessary tool kit to have managed to open the body, reseat the ram, remove and replace the hard drive and the like, but would it require soldering, or anything like that?
