AD Admin password recovery

Hi,

In Windows SBS 2003, someone has changed the admin password for the Active directory administrator. There are no other admin accounts in AD. ERD commander 2003 does will not allow me to reset the password even though the correct sas driver was loaded. I believe this is due to active directory.

How can I recover the password or create another account with admin rights - Is there another way around this problem.

Greatly appreciate help here,
Thanks.

Do you not have any other members in the domain admins group or the enterprise admins group.

You may be in a situation where you need to use directory services restore mode to get back to where you were.

Hi,

Thanks for response,

There are no other members in the domain admins group or theenterprise admins group. I also need a password for the recovery console.

How do I use Directory services restore mode?

You can refer to the link below for the restore mode. but you will need local administer password or the password that was used for restore.

Hope the information helps.
