What I was really looking for was if the system were to crash and I had to rebuild from scratch - what information would I need?

Now, there you are - exactly what i was waiting for.

If you were to rebuild from scratch (I am assuming that your AD would be in place)

Has Powershell sent you back into the Stone Age?

If managing Active Directory using Windows Powershell® is making you feel like you stepped back in time, you are not alone.  For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why.

Hi,
Even for starting from scratch will need all information to be in place as per checklists...!!
Once the information is there, then you can use steps as laid out in the links provided by Exchange_Geek !!
Cheers
