So I was having problems connecting my xlite sip phone to the pbx server. If I used the IP that is in usa it will connect, but anyother IP, the xlite would not register. So someone suggested I should have tried Hamachi. So I downloaded hamachi and installed it. However, once I have Hamachi running and I enter in the xlite the 5.x.x.x address from hamachi, I get Request time out error which is the same as if I was out of country and was getting it.
I am using pbxinaflash v1.3  asterisk1.4

I would appreciate any help

I had the same issue....

leaving out Asterisk, are you able to connect at all to your linux server through hamachi ....?

Does it show it as "unreachable"...with a yellow star ?

see my question: http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Linux/Q_23860576.html

A couple people said that the linux client for Hamachi doesn't traverse your firewall...but i'm not sure this is correct, since I can find nothing on the internet that would suggest that it doesn't work as advertised...the way the windows clients do.

I'm wondering if anyone out there is able to get hamachi working over a WAN>firewalled, on a linux box...
