Hi Everyone,

We just bought a Dell poweredge T300 server and didnt purchase the add-in raid card.  Is it possible to setup raid through the bios or will we need to buy a card?

If so whats a good card we can use for a few hunderd bucks to allow raid 0/1?

    Assisted Solution

I believe you need to buy a raid card.
    Good luck.

    Accepted Solution

I agree, but double check the BIOS settings and controllers installed.
3ware, and rocketRAID are OK, as well as some adaptec.

    1) Check if you need notifications via email or management for failures.

    2) If you need to image the machine, make sure that the controller is recognized and usable in DOS or whatever OS your imaging software sues.

    I hope this helps !
