How to turn off autocomplete on IE through and C#

I need to turn off the autocomplete function on IE, when the the user is on my website.  I am using .Net 1.1, Asp.Net and C#.
I know in ,Net 2.0 you can use autocomplete=off, but 1.1 does not have this.

Any ideas welcome
