ClickOnce Installation error - The application requires that assembly Stdole2 Version 2 be installed in the GAC

I am trying to deploy a Winforms VB.NET 2.0 Application.  When I click on the .application file to install, I get the following error:

Unable to install or run the application.  The application requires that assembly Stdole2 Version 2.0.0.0 be installed in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC) first.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Sarah

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Sarah,

goto myproject on the solutions tab and navigate to the publish area go into application files find Stdole, and change publish status to be "Include" and re-publish the project

The error message references stdole2 and I only have stdole available in my application files.  Is there some way to get stdole2 to show up in my application files?

There isn't a reference for stdole2 in the References tab.  I'm not even sure what it is.

try and do a search for stdole2 in the entire project to see where it is referenced

It isn't referenced anywhere in the entire solution.  Very puzzling.

ok, goto the references again and click on unused references...does it show there?

No, most of my references show up in there but not stdole2.  Do you know what stdole2 is?  Should I be looking for a different name?

I was able to get the application working without installing PIAs on the build server, but I'm not sure how.  Everything I found on the Internet stated they need to be installed.  Thank you for your help.
