Asterisk support for TLS / SSL

So if I want to secure the signaling and media of a SIP based call using Asterisk, is this possible? That is, does Asterisk support TLS or SSL? If not, are there ways to implement SSL or TLS using an opensource product?

Thanks,

The below link will give you the answer

If you need my advice I can ask you to install OpenSer that supports SIP over TLS...All registrations will be done on OpenSer, even all local call will be done on it without passing by asterisk...You can use asterisk to offer options like voicemail and PSTN calls...I tested this solution and it worked fine

That link is what I found when I googled this question.

Actually, I have found that there is support for TLS in asterisk in version 1.6.
