Using a table in an Joomla 1.5.7 article body

My first Joomla 1.5.7 website.

I want to insert a table in an article.

I see how to insert a table, and how to merge cells. But how do I resize cell sizes (or can they automatically resized based on contents?).

How do I show the grid lines of a cell when the page is published? (The don't show by default.)

How do I resize text (I only see controls for Format and Font Family, not Font Size)?

Where is documentation answering these question?

There is no need to create your own tables, there are many extensions that will do this for you:
