What is the keychain password?

My friend forgot his password and couldn't update his Mac.
With Experts Exchage help we've managed to reset this, but we are still prompted with Keychain Password "Safari wants to use keychain "login" ..it doesn't accept the new password that we entered.
We are able however to update the software on the Mac using the username password when requested.

What is the keychain password and is it possible to reset htis?

Go to your home folder, find the Library folder and drag the Library>Keychains folder to the trash.

Restart the computer and a new keychain will be created using your current system password.

Unfortunately, I think you need the old keychain password:

Thanks Strung

Did this, rebooted, but problem remains unfortunately.
I believe ythe prompt is for Safari User Forms.
My friend thinks he used the same forgotten password that he used for the Mac.
Is it possible to reset the Safari keychain password?
Please advise

Thanks Strung, you've solved this problem for us.
I first unlocked the user account and repeated your recommendation to delete keychains folder.
This time the Safari password defaulted to the Mac password and everything is good.
Thank you very much for your help.
