I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Select all objects you wish to align.
Click once on your "key" object...in this case, the box.
Now, click the center button.
The key object will stay in place.  All others will move.

To align text within a box, use the text alignment controls. There is left "align left", "align right" and "align center". use align center. This alignment, formerly known as "justification" is a property of a paragraph, and needs to be set for each paragraph. In ´word processors, a paragraph is defined by a hard return at the end of it.
In CS3, the alignment icons are on the toolbar at the top.
You can also find the same icons in the Paragraph Window. You can open this with ALT + CTRL + T
1) Select all the text to be centred
2) In the Paragraph Window, choose the align centre icon.

@Jason210

The issue is with the boxes moving.  To avoid that, user must select "key" object before clicking the alignment button.  The key object stays in place.  All other objects move in reference to the key.
