hi friends,

i have a single AD domain,all servers are 2008 64bit and XP SP3 clients.

i want to setup our fileserver (FS1) that way that clients directly take the updates from there.

how do i set the server up without doing it on all clients separately?

Take a look here, it's a Microsoft "cookbook" on setting up WSUS 3.0 in your domain.

    From a 25,000 foot view:
    1.  Select a server in your domain with plenty of storage.
    2.  Install IIS & WSUS
    3.  Configure WSUS update schedule.
    4.  Configure Group Policy in AD to force workstations and server to look to your WSUS box for updates.
    5.  Apply GP and test.
