C++ runtime c:\programfiles\intel\wireless\bin\evteng.exe

IBM T60 Laptop running Windows 2k getting multiple error messages one of which before network login:

C++ runtime c:\programfiles\intel\wireless\bin\evteng.exe (error)

Running Credant (not my choice!)

VPN not working at all.  CAN get to the network, login, browse the internet... just can't use VPN and have several error messages throughout the day.

I am not sure what is generating the C++ errors since this is not a developer laptop... No C++ software... NO VB software.

    Reinstall the wireless adapter drivers....its corrupt or wrong driver

    Accepted Solution

    The solution to the problem was the audio driver for the T61 IBM Thinkpad.  When Credant "breaks" it also corrupts the audio driver which in turn corrupts other software that is installed.

    KB888111.exe is the "fix" for the problem which can rear it's ugly head in Windows XP and Vista.

    Gotta love MS.... -not.
