Can't Copy and Paste into or from Remote Session
I remote into serveral dozen Windows Servers 2003 XP1 and copy and paste text to and from these boxes to my desktops or other sessions. Its not uncommon for me to have a half dozen sessions open at once.
that said I have 2 servers that when I remote into I cannot copy and paste. I have aked my IT deparartment about this and they can't copy or paste into and can't tell me why this is. When they cloned one of these machines this same problem exists on the new clone.
Is there any setting (registry) or other that can be preventing copy and paste from/in remote sessions?

Sounds like you're missing the rdpclip.exe process on the servers. There should be an entry containing c:\windows\system32\rdpcli p.exe in HKLM\System\CurrentControl Set\Contro l\Terminal Server\Wds\rdpwd\StartupPr ograms in your registry. If you don't have access to the registry you can try running rdpclip.exe manually once you terminal in and that should temporarily enable copy paste. HTH.

thanks for the help. I verifyed rdclip.exe was running and I tried to enable the services as described above in first article even though other systems that I work on don't have this enabled and work fine. Regardlless this didn't work either when I type clpbrd I get a message "The clipboard service is not available from a terminal server Remote Session.
any other ideas?

Try restarting rdpclip.exe using task manager kill the process and then run it again. See if that helps.
