Do I need SP2 on 2003 AD DC's to add 2008 DC

Do I require the 2003 servers to have SP2 installed on my 2003 AD if I want to add a 2008 DC to the 2003 AD.I realise the forestprep and domainpreps and gppreps that need to be run prior to dcpromo the 2008 box

    I believe that you need to have SP2 installed to add a 2008 server, and I understand that you need a whole new set of CAL's for the 2008 box as well.
