Visio stencil textbox doesn't extend past width of stecil

Visio 2003 or 2007
Custom stencils - downloaded from various places on the internet, including Cisco.

My problem is that on these "custom" stencils (basically anything that was not a stock MS stencil), when I put text on an item, the width of the text box will not size horizontally past the width of the stencil itself.

If I resize the stencil, the text box will resize along with the stencil.

Is there a setting to allow the textbox to resize freely?

Thanks.

Got it.

Window-->View Shape Sheet-->Text Transform box
Text Width: TEXTWIDTH(TheText)

Then it flows the textbox to the text, not the width of the shape.

argh...
