How to compile project in debug mode?

The project compiles in Release mode, as I see the .DLL in the bin/Release folder get rebuilt. But when I run the project in Debug mode, Visual Studio says files are out of sync and can not trace and debug. What can I do to complie the project in debug mode?

Hi gtrapp

Make sure all the Projects under the solution is in debug mode and check your web.config that it allows debugging.

To check all project right click on solution and click Configuration Properties(VS 2005).
Another thing you can do is remove all files in folder debug and release folder and try debugging again.

I only have one project. Where in the web.config file? When I look at the Configuration drop list box in Build tab, I don't have a selection to select Debug.

I am using MS VS 2005 Professional Edition, so my screen looks a little different from your. In the Configuration drop down list box, I only one selection and that is Active (Release).

When I start debugging, VS 2005 builds the web application's DLL in bin\release. When I change code, VS 2005 says code and debug information is out of sync. Break points do not match source code, even after rebuilding.
