I am trying to install the Microsoft C++ Redistributable but I keep getting this error. Any reason why it is trying to read from this folder.

if you directly used the MSI file to install, try renaming the msi to "1dbcc.msi"
if you used the 2005 redistributable.EXE. Right click and Extract the files from the EXE( you should have winrar or winzip). then rename the EXE inside it to "1dbcc.msi" and double click on it.

Search for Microsoft Windows Installer cleanup utility and install. Then clean the VC redistributable Installation and the error should be gone next time you run your msi.
