Ensuring 1gb ethernet connection across all computers

I recently had cat6 cabling installed, new switch and a new billion VGP7404 router which also handles the DHCP for a small network of 6 computers.

I've had new gb ethernet cards put into all my computers but I want to know if there is a way I can do a test to check that the ethernet speed between all computer is actaully 1gb and not 100mbps as some software I use on the network is very speed intensive

perhaps some kind of program or cmd script?

The task manager, networking tab isn't cutting it?

Also, keep in mind, actual speeds will vary due to a wide range of factors, including hard disk speed, network congestion, DRIVERS, file sizes, file fragmentation, electrical interference on the Cables (generally NOT a problem, but could be - only Fiber is not subject to electrical interference).

Locking the speed will be specific to the switch mfg. What kind of switches are you using?

As far as auto / auto . . switches if not locked at specific speeds / duplex, the devices can also auto-negotiate at the wrong speeds giving inconsistencies in data transmission rates.  For workstations, probably not an issue, for servers . . I always lock my port speeds and duplex on my switch at what I want them to be and avoid using the auto-negotiate
I don't suppose  your switch has different colors on the LEDs for different link speeds does it?
