We are running HP Systems Insight Manager 5.2 with SP2 - Windows

We are about to decomm a server, but I don't know how to delete it completely from the system!

Does anyone know? Or once the server is off will it disappear?

It is currently in maintenance mode.

Should be able to select the check box for the server from All Systems view and select delete button at the bottem of the screen.

I realize that this is "hijacking" a thread...but I have a similar question and the suggested solution above does not totally solve the problem.  If the deleted IP address is "re-used" on a new server, the monitored item is reincarnated as the old server name & info...not the new.

HPSIM *appears* to retain some info under the covers that comes back to haunt you if the IP address is recycled.  How do you *completely* get rid of all references to a given server so that a discovery will find the new server with its different information?
