What is the difference between PL/SQL DEVELOPER and SQL DEVELOPER if anything?

I have PL/SQL DEVELOPER version 7.1.5
but am looking at a tutorial for 2.0 I guess.

Is there any tutorials for PL/SQL Developer? if they are the same, any tutorials for the higher versions?

Thanks, Bill

PL/SQL Developer is a product from a 3rd party and you must pay for it.
PL/SQL Developer only runs on windows
PL/SQL Developer is a well established product with a large user base and robust functionality for developers,  it is one of preferred platforms for developers where I work.

SQL Developer is from Oracle and it is free.
SQL Developer is a java app and runs on windows and unix.
SQL Developer integrates with APEX and has plugins available from 3rd parties like HOTSOS profiler.
SQL Developer is new and still growing in functionality, while, what it has is pretty good, it's still catching up to other tools in many areas.

Which is better?  Well, unless you have a specific feature in one that you need that is not unavailable in the other, it's entirely subjective.

That explains why Oracle doesn't have info on it.. :>)

Any free tutorials available? Did a search and got all SQL Developer stuff.

Go to the pl/sql developer provider's page.

You can download a 30 day trila that comes with the User Guide.

    It's fairly easy to use
