I can't imagine that Cache.ndk is the problem. We'd need to know more about how you receive your mail: mail server or directly via Internet, etc. This behaviour is known only when you receive mail directly from your mail provider, and you selected Leave mail on server in the Account settings.

If mail comes in through a Domino server, check the server log.nsf database, in the Mail section: are messages received twice by the server?

Sjef bosman,

I receive my emials via the a Lotus Notes Domino 8.0.2 server ( The  server was upgraded recently )

This is what I fount in the log file :
11/09/2008 11:09:00 AM  Router: Message 002B6E68 transferred to Domino/OU/O for Recepient  from Sender  Size: 2587K via Notes

In Fact, I doubt the upgrade from Template mail6 or inote6 to mail8 is the main reason .
Moreover, since this is a newly occuring case I am not able to find enough refernces on the web so please help .

So there was only one message received by the server. Duplication must  have occurred afterwards. Maybe you do both, on your laptop: replicate and receive mail from the Internet? Can you see when both mail documents are created in the database, from the Document Properties?

Ah... Just a question: if you look in the All documents view and then in the Inbox, do you see two mails in both? There's a big difference between the Inbox and the All documents view: the first is a folder and the second is a view. A view shows real documents, a folder shows documents that are assigned to the folder. Can't explain it better than that...

What might have happened (why or how? don't ask me) is that the Inbox got corrupt. If that's the case, you  might open the mail database in the Designer, ans just throw away the Inbox folder. Then refresh the design of the database. The Inbox will be recreated.

Sjef Bosman,
In fact, even if I close  the client and re-open it I will see the same thing . Moreover, I have some cases like these and check them using the designer but in that case there was a duplicate in the ( $inbox) folder but the main reasons why I am asking for help

1- I have performed  a lot of invetigations and could not find any clue thats  something wrong with it .
2- Many users started to complain recently about this case  after the upgrade .

can any one help ??????

   Sjef,

Please be informed that finally I am aware about the reason which makes the users of the upgraded Lotus Notes getting some emails twice .I found the following link from Symantec, Release Notes for Symantec Mail Security for Domino 7.5.5 says clearly that "Duplicate message occurs when a content filtering is applied" and they have fixed this problem on 7.5.5 Release.
