Log-in Script

Dear,

I have a Script that makes change in the registry. I make a new group policy in the active directory and I add the script to work when the user make log-in. when the users make log-in, a MSG appear to ask applying the Script (Yes No), when the users press on Yes, another MSG appear to say the key its add successfully in the registry.

I need to apply the same script with the same way (Using group policy) but I dont need the MSG appear for the users. I need the script to add silently the key to the registry.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This is a .REG file.

In your group poilcy instead of naming the reg file call it with REGEDIT.

So:

REGEDIT /s Filename.REG

basically you need 2 files for your login script.

the first will be a batch file.  this is the file that actually gets executed at login.  name the file "something.bat"
the contents should be:

REGEDIT /s Filename.REG

this line of code calls a .reg file using the REGEDIT command.  The /s makes it silent so you don't get those message prompts.

the 2nd file will be a registry file (.reg).  This file is called by your batch file and contains all the registry info that gets imported.
the contents should be (what you already have):

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
