ubuntu 8.04 installing php5 for apache2 - php page displayed on remote not on local

It seems that I have everything what is needed to install php module for Apache, but
it still wants to download a file when I type  /localhost/testphp   on the localhost.

It works though when called from a different pc in my local network

I did everything what is needed

I enabled php5 module:

 a2enmod php5
 sudo  etc/init.d/apache2 force-reload

added :
DirectoryIndex index.html index.php main.php

libapache2-mod-php5  etc

Does httpd.conf from apache contain:

LoadModule php5_module        modules/libphp5.so
AddHandler php5-script php
AddType text/html       php

Can you post your httpd.conf and php.ini?
