Using Windows Push Email in America

We have Exchange and use Windows Push email on Vodafone effectively in the uk.   However, I've got a user that travels to the states on a regular basis.   When he's over there he suffers from intermittent service and failed synchronisation.  He also has a mobile USB data modem that again seems to fail intermittently and/or be slow.

I'm know looking for a solution.  Perhaps using an American Contract.

Whats the best service over there?  Has anyone else got this issue?

Thanks
John

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Alot depends on his location. The big providers are AT&T, Sprint,  and Verizon. They all offer Laptop Connect cards. Personally, I have been on AT&T for years and the service is pretty quick in metropolitain areas. There are alot of third generation towers up and running.

The service that you use, is it quick enough for a VPN?  ANy idea what speed you are getting?

AT&T would be fine. The VPN works pretty well, especially for email. We have a couple users on CAD and that takes a lillte bit to open a drawing. I havent run a speedtest in a while, but I am pretty sure I was getting over 500k down and 300 up.
