So http://wb01/status.html should request https://wa01.com:8443/XYZ/status.html?

Change   ProxyPass         / https://wa01.com:8443/

(it's line 156 in the code posted above) into:

RewriteRule ^/(status\.html)$ / https://wa01.com:8443/XYZ/$1 [P]
RewriteRule ^/(.*) / https://wa01.com:8443/$1 [P]

Yes. But I did not get this .... Expert

1: RewriteRule ^/(status\.html)$ / https://wa01.com:8443/XYZ/$1 [P]
2:RewriteRule ^/(.*) / https://wa01.com:8443/$1 [P]

Do I have to change only line 156 from

ProxyPass         / https://wa01.com:8443/   to

1: RewriteRule ^/(status\.html)$ / https://wa01.com:8443/XYZ/$1

Thanks

there's a slash where no slash should be, sorry, too much copy+paste from the proxyPass directive:

Hi caterharm www.

This also did not worked. we already have a set up where the same scenario is working. we have
wb02 -----> web server
wa02 ------> app server
here when I do http://wb02:/status.html
I get the output correct. But when I only try to access http://wb01/  I get the apache default web page. It means that the URL is listening to port 80. when I do http://wb02:8080/status.html  I get the out put as ----> The page can not be displayed so my point is it is not listening to the port 8080 which is mentioned 8080 in the httpd.cof file so the proxy ports which are mentioned in the httpd.conf files are not getting correctly redirected to the said connection ?

I need a way out ---------------------  Thanks

I am pasting the httpd.conf file from wb02 server which is working fine. If you could give me some hint that what I am missing. the status.html file is located on app server and I am getting the output for
http://wb02/status.html But page not found error for wb01. So which part in the file mentions this location part about status.html ?

I can't see any configuration in your 2nd httpd.conf which rewrites /status.html to /xyz/status.html as mentioned in your 1st posting. Does that file exist (physically) on some server or is this some sort of a virtual URL for a dynamic resource?

And if you request the status file on wa01 directly at its location (I think http://wa01.com:8080/xyz/status.html or https://wa01.com:8443/xyz/status.html; instead of using a proxy), what's the result?

A RewriteLog should show you the complete matching process of a RewriteRule. But anyway, if your backend-server does not respond/the domain cannot be resolved to an IP, how can apache reach that server via proxy?

Ah, it seems to be that th rewriteLog is configured for port 443 only.

Try to change the virtualhost for port 80 into the one below, while

    RewriteRule ^/(status\.html)$ http://wa01.com:8080/XYZ/$1 [P]

needs to be modified (XYZ) to th correct path. /clarity/tomcat-app-deploy/ROOT/status.html is the URL path or is this a physical file system path?

There should be a file called "error_vhost" within the logs directory now, too. mod_proxy should log with loglevel set to debug some notes/hints.

needed a stop and clean up so killed the process and restart the apche on wb01 So we can access the status.html now and the  testing is succssful. Thanks you very much.
