Desktop profile doesn't load

I  have a Dell laptop computer running Windows XP Pro sp3.  If I remove it from the docking station when I return it to the docking station my desktop icons don't load on the first boot up. On the third boot up my icons load.

Have you tried going to Task Manager and File>New Task Explorer.exe ?

Check the eventviewer to find out why the desktop icons didn't load.

Also, try right clicking desktop>Arange Icons By> make sure the Show Desktop Icons is checked.

I looked in System in Event Viewer and there was nothing referencing this issue.  I right clicked and the Show Destop icons is checked.

Download Malwarebytes from http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html and scan for malware.

The problem seems to have just gone away.  Since I can't get the problem to occur again to troublshoot it, I'm just going to chalk it up as another Microsoft "undocumented feature".  Thanks to everyone for trying.
