Using Mac OS X Panther - Had to reload everything but cannot load one of my printers. It says it has been installed successfully but then asks if I would like to reload the browser. WC
Using Mac OS X - trying to reload a printer but it never shows up where I can add it to the printer list. I get this message - "New printer devices detected. Would you like to reload the browser?"

I assume you installed the driver but the Maccannot see the printer. What model printer? How is it connected?

HP deskjet 3320, connected via USB. Yes, it says that the driver has installed but Mac cannot see it. It does not show up when I try to "add" printer.

Does it show up on another pc/mac? Have you tried a different usb cable, or different usb port on the mac?

I don't have another computer to try downloading this on but have tried other ports and cables and there is no difference.

If no mac or pc can detect the printer, then it looks as if there is a problem with the printer's usb port. If the printer is still under warranty (unlikely as the 3320 is about 4 years old), get hp to have a look at it. If it's out of warranty, buying another printer will be the cheaper option.

ANYWAY, I have tried another printer on the same port, same USB cable, and same computer and this other printer seems to work.
SO, I would like to try to get the OTHER printer to work the 3320 since it is smaller and it DID work on this computer at one time.

Could still use hlep with this. Why does my computer accept other printers but not this one when it USED to see the driver for this printer?

Sorry, I think that the printer works on a PC. I am pushing this only becasue I think I read a solution to this SOMEWHERE in a magazine or whatever but cannot find it so was hoping someone on the Experts Exchange would know. This would have been a Mac magazine or info somewhere.
